My wife runs everywhere, and recently she asked me to photograph her running in Red Rock National Park. March 10th 2012 is a marathon and a half marathon that Calico Racing is hosting. I cover marathons for big cities, however these pretty races are very small and have a small budget, that said I can’t afford to cover these races for the amount they offer. So when my wife asked me to do it I was prepared to get out there with the runners, however she had a better idea to get out there a week early and get the best sports photographs possible. So we headed out on Monday and captured some fantastic images and had the place to ourselves. Red Rock is beautiful year round, but this time of year the weather is perfect. Mid 70’s and plenty of sunshine. The Red Rock loop is 13 miles, and most of it is stunning for photography. We had a great time and found some perfect locations for her photos.
FYI: Kevin Thompson is available for private photography sessions just like the photos you see in this article. If you have a team or need individual photographs for yourself or company, please don’t hesitate to ask.
