At the beginning of the 2012 NFL Football season I was hired to photograph the last pre-season practice and interview of the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. I was surprised to find so many media agencies on scene from outside the Denver area. This was a big deal and I was super excited to get chosen to get the call. The media was only allowed to photograph the practice for 10 minutes each day. Then we waited for 2-3 hours until the team was finished for the interview session. I understand the limited time frame, however it was very disappointing to only have access to some very basic play photography. That is where the game photos make up for this limited time frame, but there is something cool about practice photos that you don’t get in game play. Practice photos have more one on one and repeated play maneuvers, giving you a 2nd chance to capture another angle or missed shot. Unfortunately unless you can read french, they are only images.
